GRAND LARCENY/ESCAPE/FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE: 6699 Springfield Mall (JC Penney), 10/18/19, 7:16 p.m. Officers attempted to stop two women and a man for shoplifting after they exited a store without paying for merchandise. The group ran and were pursued by officers. Lachyrell Tucker, 25, of Washington, D.C., was caught and charged with larceny, grand larceny and escape without force. Descriptions are not available for the other two suspects.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/HIT AND RUN: 6400 block of Backlick Road, 10/19/19, 3:50 p.m. The victim was involved in an accident with another motorist who initially stopped and then drove off. The victim followed the other vehicle to a parking lot where the driver assaulted him and destroyed his cell phone before driving off again. Juan Juarez, 33, of Oklahoma, was located nearby, arrested and charged with hit and run, destruction of property, preventing summoning of law enforcement and no driver’s license.

GRAND LARCENY/FOOT PURSUIT: 6699 Springfield Mall (JC Penney), 10/19/19, 8:53 p.m. A man and a women walked into the JC Penney’s store and stole merchandise. After a short foot pursuit through the shopping center, officers located the two and arrested them without further incident. Alfonce Powell, 27, of Maryland, was charged with grand larceny and failure to appear in court, and Shardaisha Slater, 25, of Maryland, was charged with grand larceny.


BURGLARY: 7200 block of Kyles Landing, 10/18/19 between 10 a.m. and 8:45 p.m. Someone broke into a house and stole currency and personal items.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING: 13000 block of Metrotech Drive, 10/20/19, 12:35 a.m. Two men were involved in an argument in a parking lot and one of the men was found to have stab wounds in the upper body. The suspect ran away and was caught by witnesses. Both men were taken to the hospital and treated for injuries.
