Fairfax County Voters Getting Scam Calls

If you received such a phone call saying your polling location has changed, it did not come from Fairfax County.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- As Fairfax County voters go to the polls to choose their next governor Tuesday, the county is warning voters that someone is making calls and sending texts falsely informing people that their polling location has changed.

"Please note that we have received reports (as has Prince William Co.) that voters are getting calls and texts telling them their poll location has changed," says county spokeswoman Lisa Connors. "These texts/calls have not come from the Fairfax Co. Office of Elections. If voters get this call or text, they should check/confirm their poll location at Vote.Virginia.Gov or call their local Election Office – in Fairfax County that is 703-222-0776."

As of 2 p.m., Fairfax County estimated voter turnout was 30.6 percent, Connors said.
