FBI Raids Reston Software, Cybersecurity Firm's HQ: Reports

FBI agents and Virginia State Police conducted a raid of the Reston headquarters of a technology and cybersecurity services provider.

RESTON, VA — Carahsoft Technology Corporation, a technology and cybersecurity services provider, had its Reston headquarters raided by the FBI on Tuesday, according to multiple sources.

“We can confirm that the FBI conducted court-authorized law enforcement activity on Sunset Hills Road this morning. We decline to comment further,” an FBI spokesperson said in a statement, as reported by NextGov/FCW.

InsideNoVa obtained correspondence from people familiar with knowledge of the situation that confirmed the FBI and Virginia State Police raided Carahsoft's headquarters at 11493 Sunset Hills Road on Tuesday morning.

Employees were told that the agents were there "as part of an investigation into a company with which Carahsoft has done business in the past" and that the company is fully cooperating and "operating business as usual," according to an email sent by Carahsoft CEO Craig Abod and obtained by Nextgov /FCW.

Authorities searched employees' electronic devices and interviewed some employees, before sending them home, according to InsideNoVa.
