Firefighters Extinguish Kitchen Fire In Reston Apartment

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue responded to the report of a kitchen fire Wednesday evening in a Reston apartment building.

RESTON, VA — Firefighters with the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department were able to quickly extinguish a kitchen fire in a Reston apartment building Wednesday evening.

FCFD units were dispatched Wednesday, Feb. 26, around 6:12 p.m., for the report of an apartment fire in the 12000 block of Greywing Square. Arriving on the scene, firefighters encountered a small kitchen fire, which they were able to knock down very quickly, according to Ashley Hildebrandt, public safety information officer with FCFD.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire and the cost of damages will not be determined until fire investigators have issued a report.
