Former Reston Town Center Business Reopens

RESTON, VA -- The Bike Lane is back, but instead of operating out of Reston Town Center, the business is can now be found on Sunset Hills Road.

The Bike Lane abandoned RTC as one of many merchants displeased with RTC manager Boston Properties over their decision to introduce paid parking. Now, they're at 11150 Sunset Hills Road.

"We have relocated our Reston shop to a new location," their website states. "The shop is conveniently located ON the W&OD trail with plenty of FREE PARKING and only two blocks from the Wiehle Metro. Enjoy immediate access to miles of paved trails and single track directly out our front door!"

The Bike Lane closed at RTC on May 28. They were one of many merchants to object to the move to paid parking in early 2017, claiming it was hurting business.

However, Boston Properties has said during quarterly earnings calls -- and in an interview with Patch -- that Reston Town Center is doing extremely well and continues to experience strong demand. Executives say they are having no problem leasing space at RTC.
