RESTON, VA — Bree Fram, a retired U.S. Space Force colonel who was pushed out of the service by the Trump administration, declared her candidacy Tuesday for the 11th District Congressional seat in the Nov. 3 election.

"I will fight to make our Virginia communities more affordable, protect our rights, and build a government that actually works for you. I intend to deliver an accessible, inclusive American Dream, ensuring that Virginia remains diverse, safe and economically vibrant for all."
Fram was one of the highest ranking, openly transgender officers in the U.S. military, until the Trump administration ended her service last year.
