Free Headshot Event Helps Veterans, Military Spouses Transitioning To Private Life
A local photographer and military aid organization team up to host free headshot event for recent veterans and military spouses.

RESTON, VA — As a way to honor veterans, the American Armed Forces Mutual Aid Association hosted a free headshot event last Saturday at the AAFMAA Manor House in Reston.
For the fourth year in a row, photographer and expression coach Jon Meadows of High-End Headshots provided free photos for military spouses and recent veterans transitioning back into private life. This year he booked 70 headshot sessions.
Each year, Meadows looks for a sponsor who can provide a space and staff support for the free headshot event.

"This year, AAFMAA stepped up and helped get the word out, because even though it's free it takes some work to get the day filled up," Meadows said. "This year, being the fourth, it filled up pretty quickly, within about a week. I almost didn't get a chance to post about it myself before it was full."
AAFMAA is a non-profit financial solutions provider supporting military families and veterans.

"This is a great opportunity to have Jon and the team here to do some really professional headshots of veterans and military spouses," said Retired Brig. Gen. Michael J. Meese, the president of AAFMAA. "It's a great tie-in to what AAFMAA does, which is also taking care of veterans and military spouses."
