Free July 4 Family Celebration Brings Games, Ice Cream To Reston Town Center Friday

RESTON, VA — Families looking for an early Independence Day celebration can head to Reston Town Center on Friday for an evening of free games, entertainment and activities.

Stars & Stripes Family Night will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 3, beneath the covered pavilion at Reston Town Center, 11900 Market St. The event is free and open to the public, with complimentary garage parking available.

The holiday-themed celebration will feature a live DJ, face painting, superhero character meet-and-greets, a photo booth and a series of field day competitions designed for children and families.

Games, Ice Cream And Entertainment

Field day games will be held every 30 minutes, with participants checking in at the pavilion tent before each activity. The schedule includes:

• 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. — Tic Tac Toe Relay
• 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. — Connect 4 Relay
• 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. — Sack Race
• 6 p.m. — Water Balloon Toss

Guests also can enjoy giveaways and complimentary Ben & Jerry's ice cream, including the Americone Dream flavor, while supplies last.

The family event is scheduled to be held rain or shine beneath the pavilion's covered area, although severe weather could result in cancellation.
