Galentine's Day Virtual Workout Benefits Domestic Abuse Victims

RESTON, VA — New Trail Cycling & Strength Studio is hosting a virtual Galentine's Day workout on Sunday, to help get the blood moving the day before Valentine's Day and to help raise money for victims of domestic abuse.

New Trail will be joining other woman-owned businesses in the area by donating 100 percent of the ticket proceeds from the virtual event to Shelter House, a non-profit that helps support the victims of domestic abuse in Fairfax County.

New Trail Founder Liz Kamp will start the Zoom event at 11 a.m., coaching a 45-minute total bodyguard workout for all levels. No equipment is needed to participate. The workout will be followed by a virtual shop party and giveaways.

"We, at Shelter House, are honored to be a charity of choice for the 2nd Annual Galentine's Day workout at New Trail Cycling & Strength," said Nurjan Ahmedova, the nonprofit's director of development, in a release. "Funds raised at the event will directly benefit the most vulnerable in our community. Last year, Shelter House served 845 households, comprised of 1,989 individuals, nearly 1,000 of whom were children.”

New Trail, which is located in Washington Plaza at Lake Anne, has lined up the following business for the event: filthy clean soap, The Gorilla and the Pig, Rock ‘n’ Flow Yoga and Henterre handcrafted clay, plus Athleta. All Galentine's attendees will receive an entry into the raffles. To receive extra entries, invite friends to participate and ask them to email New Trail to let them know who referred them.
