Gold Medalist, Matthew Centrowitz meet & greet in Reston Town Center

Reston, VA– Potomac River Running is thrilled to announce TWO two-time Olympians will be headlining an event in Reston Town Center on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 6:30 p.m.

This father-son duo has represented the United States of America on four Olympic teams (’76, ’80, ’12, ’16). Centrowitz Jr. took home the Olympic Gold Medal in the 1500m in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished by an American since 1908. Centrowitz Sr. proudly cheered on his son from the stands, “my palms were sweating, my mouth was dry, I was more nervous than I’d ever been. With 700 meters to go, my son was leading in the Olympic finals with the world’s fastest milers all just inches behind him. The next 100 seconds would be the most exciting of Matthew’s life, and – by extension- my own.”

This event will feature the duo sharing their Olympic experiences and offering the best running advice they’ve learned through their journey all while continuing to be their entertaining and humorous selves. Attendance is free, but space is limited, so please RSVP.

Copies of Centrowitz Sr.’s book, “Like Father, Like Son.” will be on sale. We invite everyone to stay after their presentation to get it signed, take photos, and get an up close and personal experience with an Olympic Gold Medal.
