Reston Golf Pro Plays 335 Holes In One Day To Break Record, Raise $20K For Veterans
To help raise over $20,000 for service-disabled military veterans, golf pro plays 335 holes in one day at Hidden Creek Country Club.

RESTON, VA — Anthony McNamara, the golf pro at Hidden Creek County Club in Reston, completed a record-breaking golf marathon on Friday, playing a total of 335 holes in a single day.
"He played non-stop speed golf from dawn to almost darkness — playing 16 hours and 12 minutes breaking the Hidden Creek record of 333 holes played in one day by 2 holes," said Toby Marquez, who organized the event. "This was a terrific all-hands endeavor that ended in the very last second of the dusk spectrum when at 9:21 p.m. his ball from the 168-yard par 3, 15th tee landed near the hole for a gimme birdie, eliciting a roar from the crowd around the green.”
McNamara's effort was not just for show. His herculean demonstration of linksmanship helped raise over $20,000 for Segs4Vets, a local charity helping wounded military veterans.

"The Segs4Vets program rebuilds a foundation of independence, community, and family for veterans and active-duty members of the United States military who sustained severe injuries or illnesses that resulted in permanent disability while serving our country," said Barney Barnum, a retired U.S. Marine Corps colonel and member of the Segs4Vets Advisory Board.
Rick Bazaco, a service-disabled veteran and double-amputee, said that the ally chair he received from Seg4vets has given him more freedom and mobility. He expressed his gratitude to McNamara, the people who helped him break the record, and those who supported Seg4vets through their donations.

"Without all of your generous support of time, effort and money, many deserving disabled veterans would not have the mobility that the Seg4Vets affords them," he said. "Additionally, it shows that you have not forgotten us, which in my opinion means just as much as your actual gift.”
