Grammy Winner Marcy Marxer in concert @ Amphora (Herndon) Tuesday Dec. 8th

DC-area folk fixture Marcy Marxer performs at the Folk Club of Reston-Herndon’s monthly concert series Tuesday December 8th, 7:15 pm at the Amphora Diner Deluxe, 1151 Elden Street in Herndon. Marcy will be joined onstage by Rolly Brown, who has been described as “the guitar picker’s guitar picker.”

Marcy Marxer has performed acoustic music on Emmy Award-winning National Geographic specials and along with her partner Cathy Fink, has been awarded over 60 WAMMIE Awards by the Washington Area Music Association for folk, bluegrass, and children’s music. The C.F Martin Company honored Marcy’s musical achievements by creating a signature guitar, the MC3H Marcy Marxer Custom Signature Edition.

Rolly Brown has been playing folk, blues, ragtime, bluegrass, country, and jazz for nearly five decades and has taught and performed fingerstyle and flatpicking guitar at the Swannanoa Gathering as well as numerous other music camps and festivals.
