Great Falls Man Charged In Attempted Robbery On W&OD Trail

RESTON, VA — Fairfax County Police officers from the Reston District Station arrested a suspect in an attempted robbery that took place Friday afternoon on the Washington & Old Dominion Trail over the Fairfax County Parkway, according to the daily crime report.

The victim was riding his bicycle along on the W&OD Trail around 3:27 p.m., when a man grabbed the rear of his bicycle. The two struggled over the bicycle, before the suspect ran away after the victim called for help. The victim suffered minor injuries.

Officers located and apprehended the suspect nearby. They arrested Stephen Rogata, 23, of Great Falls, and charged him with attempted robbery and misdemeanor destruction of property. He is being held without bond.
