Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce Collects School Supplies

Assistance League of Northern Virginia is very grateful to the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce for including the organization in its Summer Social & Donation Drive earlier this month. The Chamber’s Community Engagement Council selected the nonprofit to benefit from its campaign to collect backpacks and school supplies. Chamber members donated more than 580 packages of backpacks and supplies, such as lead pencils, crayons, colored pencils, erasers, folders, glue sticks, notebooks, colored markers, and rulers. Two Assistance League members filled their trunks with the bounteous contributions from the Chamber. Those supplies will be delivered soon to happy elementary school students. Assistance League appreciates the Chamber’s generous members and their willingness to help ensure that students at local Title 1 schools have the tools they need.

In addition to the incredible generosity of Chamber members, Assistance League appreciates the opportunity to showcase its programs and events for everyone who attended the Summer Social and to connect with Chamber members and deepen relationships with local businesses who also want to contribute to the welfare of the community.
