Gunshots Reported in Reston; People Seen Fleeing the Scene

The shootings happened after a loud argument in a parking lot near Lake Fairfax.

RESTON, VA — Police are asking for the public's help in finding a group of suspects after gunshots were reported in a quiet residential area adjacent to Lake Fairfax on Tuesday.

Police responded to reports of arguing in a parking lot in the 11000 block of Becontree Lake Drive at around 912 p.m. on Sept. 6.

"While enroute, reports of gunshots at the same location were received," according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department. "Several vehicles were seen leaving the area after the shots were heard."

When officers arrived, everyone was gone, but an officer found an unspent bullet on the ground. Police brought a bloodhound to the scene, which managed to track to the area where witnesses saw people getting into vehicles and quickly leaving.

There are currently no suspect descriptions, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fairfax County Police Department.
