Updated: Homicide In Reston Under Investigation By Fairfax Police
Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department are on the scene of a homicide in Reston.

RESTON, VA — Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Department responded to the report of a homicide that took place shortly after 2 p.m., on Wednesday, in the 2300 block of Branleigh Park in in Reston, according to a posts on the FCPD Twitter account.
Detectives from the major crime unit were still on the scene at 5:25 p.m., according to a Twitter post. A preliminary investigation revealed that the fatal shooting involved a male victim. Police say that that the incident appears not to be a random act of violence at this time.

Police believe the suspect has left the area in a Silver Nissan Rogue.
