Getting to work on Wednesday will not be easy, whether you typically ride the Metro train or not. Be prepared to see a lot of those commuters on your regular route.
Metro is stopping all train service beginning at midnight Wednesday morning until 5 a.m. Thursday to inspect the tracks after a fire Monday raised concerns.

Federal employees will have the option to take unscheduled leave or telework, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

Car: The first option may be those four wheels out front. If you're getting behind the wheel, check out our live audio traffic reports on specific routes. Also, check out slugging/carpooling options.
Train: Virginia Railway Express runs trains during standard commuter times (heading north in the morning, south in the evening) with several stops from Fredericksburg and Manassas to Union Station. Trains will be on regular schedule.
Taxi: Let someone else take the hellish ride for you. Grab a ride
Bike: The weather is going to be a pleasant 70 degrees.

- Capital Bikeshare offers a 24-hour pass for $8. All trips under $30 are free. There are bikeshare stations across Arlington and Alexandria.
Bus: Metrobus will be operating on Wednesday.
