Fairfax County is holding public meetings in the coming weeks for input on a proposed 10 new Bikeshare stations.

RESTON, VA — Fairfax County is looking into installing 10 new Bikeshare stations around Reston, with most of them slated for installation around Reston Town Center.

The Fairfax County Department of Transportation is seeking public input on the location of the new stations, which would be Phase II of a plan to expand Capital Bikeshare.

The county will conduct public meetings in the coming weeks to discuss the issue:

"Since Phase II is federally funded, all stations must be located in the public right of way," the county said in a statement. "FCDOT plans to replace some of the existing Phase I stations that were locally funded with federally funded stations, and then relocate those Phase I stations to south Reston where public right of way is not available. While FCDOT has identified several additional locations for bikeshare stations, these proposed stations represent those that meet the criteria of existing available public right of way."

Fairfax County unveiled the first Bikeshare stations back in October. The stations were installed at both Reston and Tysons Corner.
