Hurry: Golfers Needed in Reston for Big Charity Golf Tournament

Sponsors are also needed for 19th Annual Golf Tournament, hosted by Herndon's own Jimmy's Old Town Tavern.

A big charity golf tournament is coming to Reston soon, and both golfers and sponsors are badly needed -- so sign up now if you want to have fun and help place American flags on grave sites at Quantico National Cemetery in the process.

Jimmy's Old Town Tavern is holding its 19th annual golf tournament on Monday, Aug. 1 at Hidden Creek Country Club in Reston, with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 9 a.m., according to a statement.

An awards dinner will follow the tournament at Jimmy's Tavern in downtown Herndon.

Jimmy's Tavern is seeking players, sponsors and prize donations for the event. For every dollar raised, an American flag will be placed on a Quantico National Cemetery grave site.

"Please get involved and help pay tribute for our fallen heroes and their families," the statement adds.
