Since it's time to replace must haves and take advantage of post-holiday sales, I really need to replace my black staples -- pants, skirt, jacket and little black dress. The black "must haves" that I currently wear work separately but don't all work with each other. And I'm going to be needing a suit for some important meetings comings up.
Jessica, please help me.

Jill, finding a "3 or 4" black piece suit is hard especially on sale!...sometimes one can get lucky in finding all pieces ( blazer, skirt, pants, dress) in same fabric, correct size and on sale. Let's see if we can get lucky!
I found these pieces from Banana Republic. They are having 35% off all regularly price items (online only)..so not a huge sale, but it is something.
When buying our basic must haves, this is the time to splurge. These pieces, if properly cared for, can last for years. I still have my 3 piece suit from Banana Republic that I bought 10 years ago.
I found these. Do you like? At this point they are available in your size. Hopefully when you are ready to buy them they are still available.
Black Suit Blazer: This is a classic shape. For more of a flair or to balance out your hour glass shape, this Black Suit Blazer will work well.
Black Pencil Skirt: A classic pencil skirt. Fit the skirt to the largest part of your body then have it altered elsewhere.
Black Suit Pants: There are many different pant styles at Banana Republic. Try them all on and see which pant shape flatters you best.
Little Black Dress: Not quite your typical black dress but color blocking and cobalt blue is so huge in fashion now, why not add these trends in a dress? This is still appropriate for work with a blazer or cardigan, but could add black boots, black leather jacket, thicker belt and fun jewelry and it would be great for a night out.
Alternative Little Black Dress: You mentioned how you loved Julia Roberts' Golden Globe Dress, (I agree with this critic that the dress feels "disjointed") BUT I found this dress at the Loft, and it has the same feel but more stream-lined and totally sleek. This dress can easily mix and match into our "Must Have" wardrobe.
When shopping for all our "Must Haves" make sure you reference our "Styling Tips" or please feel free to email us your questions.
