ICYMI: First-Ever Lake Anne Jazz Week Begins Sunday

The week-long event will conclude with the ninth-annual Jazz & Blues Festival at Lake Anne Plaza, headline by the Adrian Duke Project.

The inaugural Lake Anne Jazz Week is coming to Lake Anne Plaza from Aug. 30 through Sept. 5, featuring a variety of jazz-themed events and plenty of live music.

The week will close with the Plaza’s ninth-annual Jazz & Blues Festival on Sept. 5, the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. The Festival is an all-day event that draws artists from throughout the nation.

The Jazz & Blues Festival, as well as the Lake Anne Jazz Week, are free and family friendly.

  • August 30, sundown — Summer Film Festival Series Movie “Jazz on a Summer’s Day” (1959)
  • September 1, 7-10 p.m. — The Red Tree Solo — Café Montmartre
  • September 1, 8 p.m. — Jazz Trivia Night — Kalypso’s Sports Tavern
  • September 1, 6-9 p.m. — Mykle Lyons Trio — Plaza
  • September 2, 8-10 p.m. — The Caterpillars Duet — Café Montmartre
  • September 2, 9:30 p.m. — Jazz Karaoke Night — Kalypso’s Sports Tavern
  • September 3, 7-9 p.m. — Take A Break Concert Series featuring the Chris Vadala Quartet — Plaza
  • September 4, 7:30-10:30 p.m. — Cabernet — Café Montmartre
  • September 4, 6:30-8:30 p.m. — The Jason Kearse Trio — Plaza
  • September 5, 9:30 p.m. — Post Festival Late Night with Sam Gunderson — Kalypso’s Sports Tavern

Headlining this year’s Jazz & Blues Festival is popular New Orleans jazz artists the Adrian Duke Project. Duke sings and plays the piano, and the group incorporates elements of blues, funk, R&B and jazz in its sound, giving it a unique sound that has grown popular in the industry.
