Seymour: An Introduction-Review, Interview, and Trailer
INDIE SPOTLIGHT: Ethan Hawke's wonderful, inspiring documentary about concert pianist and teacher Seymour Bernstein-
There is something as resonant and beautiful in a wise authentic person, someone who genuinely walks his talk, as there is the sounding of a single note on a Steinway piano. When life or music are played with passion and conviction it moves just about everyone. Hence why we all need an introduction to Seymour Bernstein through director Ethan Hawkes gorgeously straightforward yet emotional documentary Seymour: An Introduction, about former concert pianist, now longtime piano teacher Seymour Bernstein. Watch the entire 5 star review, and why Seymour is so compelling, BELOW.
Also, I was honored to interview this lovely gentlemanwho coaxes for more than just performances from his pupils. He believes developing our talents will enhance us as people, make us better, make us joyful... Prepare to be charmed. He is wonderful. He did make me cry....well, I made me cry in his presence. Since Ethan Hawke says he cried through Seymour Bernstein’s entire live performance, his first in almost 40 years, I figure I’m in great company!

Here is the trailer, so you can see what some of the hype is about! Be advised, those who live in the Washington DC area, that Seymour will be at the Landmark Bethesda Row theater for Saturday, March 28th’s 1:50 and 7:00 pm showings of Seymour: An Introduction, and he’ll be doing a Q & A afterwards. I’ll be there, join me! And see the film. It’s GREAT!
