International Women's Day Protest Planned In Reston
Herndon-Reston Indivisible is hosting a non-violent protest at the corner of Reston Parkway and Baron Cameron Avenue on March 8.

RESTON, VA — Herndon-Reston Indivisible is hosting a International Women's Day Protest on Sunday, March 8, 2 to 3:30 p.m., at the corner of Reston Parkway and Baron Cameron Avenue.
"On International Women's Day, stand together as this government continuously tries to take away our rights. Show your support for women everywhere, specifically the women who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump," Herndon-Reston Indivisible said in a release, adding that other genders are more than welcome to join in the protest.
According to its website, Herndon-Reston Indivisible's website is a grassroots organization aimed at mobilizing a progressive network while electing Democrats. Made up of residents from the 10th and 11th congressional districts, HRI advocates for of progressive issues, including support for Social Security, healthcare, gun violence prevention, and women’s rights.

"A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action," according to its website. "We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values."
Participants in the March 8 demonstration are encouraged to bring water and signs.
