Investigators Crack 22-Year-Old Reston Cold Case: Police
Police arrested a man in Florida who is accused of sexually assaulting four women in Reston back in 1995.

RESTON, VA -- Police have arrested a man in connection with the sexual assault of four women in Reston 22 years ago.
Florida authorities arrested 49-year-old Jude Joseph David Lovchik near his home in Ocala, Fla., last Wednesday. He is accused of sexually assaulting four women in an apartment in the 11000 block of Olde Tiverton Circle in Reston back on June 6, 1995, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.
Police got a major break in the case on Aug. 25, when DNA evidence "confirmed an investigative lead our detectives had been pursuing," the report states. Using that evidence along with additional information uncovered by detectives, they identified Lovchik as a suspect. Lovchick used to reside in Springfield before he moved to Florida in September.

Lovchik faces a host of serious charges. He's been charged with fugitive from justice, and he will eventually be charged with armed burglary, abduction with intent to defile, and sodomy, police say. He is expected to face those additional charges once extradited back to Fairfax County, and more charges could be coming.
"The team of men and woman who have been working this case have put in a tremendous amount of work," Capt. David Smith of the Fairfax County Police Major Crimes Bureau said in the report. "As a result of their dedication, we have taken this predator off the street."
