It's South Lakes Seahawks vs. Madison Warhawks for 2014 Season Opener

South Lakes High School Seahawks football fans, prepare to break out your royal blue and kelly green: The South Lakes Seahawks will play their first official game of the 2014 season against Vienna’s James Madison Warhawks at South Lakes High School in Reston on Friday, Aug. 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Leading the charge will be new Varsity Football Coach Trey Taylor, former head coach of the W.T. Woodson Cavaliers, who the Reston team will play in their first scrimmage. Former Seahawks head Coach Wooten stepped down last spring.

The South Lakes varsity football team will play two scrimmage games before the first official game. The first scrimmage is this Friday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. against the W. T. Woodson Cavaliers in Fairfax. The next scrimmage is set for Thursday, Aug. 21 at 6 p.m. at South Lakes against Ashburn’s Broad Run Spartans. The Seahawks began practices last Monday, Aug. 4.

Friday, Sept. 5, 7:30 p.m.: AWAY game at Westfield High School, Chantilly

Friday, Sept. 12, 7:30 p.m.: HOME game with Washington-Lee in Reston

Friday, Sept. 19, 7:30 p.m.: AWAY game at Herndon High School in Herndon

Friday, Sept. 26, 7:30 p.m.: AWAY game at McLean High School in McLean

Friday, Oct. 10, 7:30 p.m.: HOME game with Jefferson High School (homecoming) in Reston

Friday, Oct. 17, 7:30 p.m.: AWAY game at Langley High School in McLean

Friday, Oct. 24, 7:30 p.m.: HOME game with Stone Bridge in Reston

Friday, Oct. 31, 7:30 p.m.: HOME game with Marshall in Reston (senior night)

Friday, Nov. 7, 7:30 p.m.: AWAY game at Fairfax High School

The Seahawks are in the 6A Conference, which includes Hayfield, Washington-Lee, McLean, Langley, Yorktown and Fairfax high schools.
