It's Time To Stuff The Bus With Food For Those In Need

Fairfax County is collecting donations Tuesday for a Reston-area food bank as part of the annual Stuff the Bus food drive.

RESTON, VA — Twice a year, Fairfax County puts out the call for donations to fill the shelves of local nonprofits' food pantries, as part of the Stuff the Bus food drive.

On Tuesday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., a Fastrans bus will be parked at the Hunter Mill District Supervisor’s Office (1801 Cameron Glen DriveReston, VA 20190), in order to collect food donations from the public. All of the donations from this site will go to Cornerstones, a Reston-based nonprofit that helping those in need of food, shelter, affordable housing, quality childcare, and other human services.

For anyone who would like to make a donation but can't make it to bus to contribute, Volunteer Fairfax has created a Donation Page to connect donors with nonprofits serving Fairfax County residents.

The public is asked to observe social distancing in order to safely make donations to Stuff the Bus.
