It's Your Body... Give it a Hand!

Older bodies can function and feel just as good as younger ones... yes really they can. As I work with more and more older adults, I see the amazing changes that can occur with just a small amount of the right kind of health-based daily activity.

In fact, improvements in posture, balance and strength are more noticeable in an older body. But I can tell you that to get the best results, it does take just a little bit of effort on your part.

Is the effort worth it? Absolutely! If you can reduce or eliminate pain and enjoy your life more with just a few simple exercises and lifestyle changes, wouldn't the benefits be worth it?

What if you could plan that trip you've always wanted to take because your back did not hurt any more? How about enjoying going to the movies or your favorite restaurant because you have conquered the fear of falling and hurting yourself?

So how can you feel better and enjoy life more by spending just a few minutes a day?

For the most part, older adults who decide that they want to feel better first reduce their sitting times dramatically. Several recent studies have shown that sitting is damaging to your bones, joints, circulation, breathing, heart and general health. People that sit more hurt more.

Next instead of sitting they use their time more wisely and begin a non-seated, health based activity program. This program would be safe and age appropriate. It would only include movements that are safe for an older body.

It would focus on improving your posture, balance and strength. By improving these three components, you can help alleviate pain, reduce the risk of falling and fractures and increase lower and upper body strength.

So no matter how old or out of shape you are, it really is possible to feel better in just a short amount of time. I know it works. I have seen it happen first hand over and over and over. If you have questions about how to get started, just send me an email or give me a call.
