Jam-Packed Weekend at Lake Anne Just Days Away
Ukuleles and classic films will dominate the Plaza this weekend.

If you love the arts, get ready for a summer film festival series and the ukuleles' return to Lake Anne Plaza this weekend.
The Lake Anne Summer Film Festival runs on the 2nd and 4th Fridays in July and August and celebrates the 30th anniversary of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."
Ferris Bueller will be the featured movie on July 8, followed by Toy Story July 22, Breakfast at Tiffany's Aug. 12 and Lady Sings the Blues Aug. 26, which will additionally help kick off Lake Anne Jazz Week. The films start at sundown.

The annual Ukulele Festival, which is free and open to the public, will also start this weekend and run from July 7-9.
"The free festival features performances by several acclaimed ukulele musicians, music demonstrations, open to the public morning jam session, festival vendors, and other family friendly activities," according to a statement. "The event features a wide variety of music genres ranging from blues, traditional Hawaiian, swing, and folk. Each group will lead festival goers in a strum-a-long session that will be fun for all ages. Individuals are welcome to bring their ukuleles or pick up one at the festival and enjoy learning the tiny instrument."
