RESTON, VA — Residents of Reston have until March 10 to complete a survey and provide feedback on the economic vision for the Lake Anne Commercial Revitalization Area.

Hunter Mill District Supervisor Walter Alcon initiated an economic visioning study to form a consensus on future plans for the revitalization area.

"Both the Supervisor and county staff have no preconceived ideas about specific outcomes but hope that it is a vision that combines an understanding of the local market with the interests of the Lake Anne community. The goal is to develop a market appropriate, aspirational economic vision that builds on the historic and unique characteristics of the Lake Anne area," according to a release from Alcorn's office.

Consulting firm Streetsense was chosen to lead the visioning effort, which will involved input from Lake Anne residents and business owners. The study process is estimated to take about four to five months, with a final report expected to be delivered in June.

Streetsense successfully hosted four virtual focus groups with Lake Anne stakeholders in early February. A summary is available online.

Streetsense will also be hosting a public workshop on Monday, April 10, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Reston Community Center in Lake Anne. A registration link is also available on the study's website.
