Lake Anne ES Eco Club gets invited to Washington, DC

Lake Anne Eco-School team was invited to present at the 2nd Annual Student Innovation Showcase on May 21st from 5:00-6:30 pm at the USGBC Building in Washington DC. This was an exciting science-fair style showcase where students got to share their work with the community, city officials, campus and district representatives.

We are proud of our Eco-School students on their work on SIX Eco-Audit Grant awards given by EcoRise. We will be receiving a total of $2,581.82 this spring.

The funds from these projects will improve the existing learning gardens, create an herb garden and composting system, create a nature trail and help supply tools for upkeep to enhance the public spaces on campus. We are really proud of the hard work and research students put into these grant applications! We are thankful of EcoRise for guiding our team in the process and providing us the opportunity to share what they learned at the Student Innovation Showcase.
