Some members have asked why the Reston Association should participate in a land swap as a component of the planned revitalization of Lake Anne. And, as part of the decision making process, including the public hearing tonight, several key benefits have been identified for consideration.
These reasons, highlighted for their importance to the ongoing revitalization of Lake Anne include:
• It will allow for a parking structure that creates enough spaces to support a thriving, newly energized village center and more visitors for Lake Anne’s small business owners.

• It will bring nearly $500,000 in community improvements by Lake Anne Development Partners, including cost-sharing of Reston Association capital improvement projects, installation of light fixtures, construction of pathways connecting to the expanded Village Center, landscaping and reforestation.
The over 20 year effort to renovate and revitalize Lake Anne will greatly enhance the community but the effort needs your input. We encourage you to attend a public hearing on the issue tonight, Thursday, Oct. 24, at 7:00 p.m. at Reston Association Headquarters, 12001 Sunrise Valley Drive. If you are unable to attend, you can submit written comments as late as Nov. 21. For additional information, visit www.reston.org.
