On Friday, August 17th, Lake Anne Elementary School students, alumni, teachers and their families came together to paint the "Community Circles" mural. The Community Painting Day was held as a way to launch the new school year and as an opportunity for Lake Anne students to visit with each other and their teachers, and to give back to their community. South Lakes High School senior, and Lake Anne alumnus, Dillon Melnick, and Lake Anne alumna and teacher, Lorrie-Ann Melnick organized this event and used Lake Anne elementary student artwork to design the mural. Students, teachers, alumni and their families painted the mural. Materials and generous support were provided by Lake Anne administration, PTA, Reston Association, and local businesses. The mural can be seen at the entry to the tunnel on Fairway Drive.
