Loudoun Charity Golf Classic: 15 Years of Community Impact

15th Annual Loudoun Charity Golf Classic at Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club. Register by Sept. 19.

If you love golf as much as you love our community, we hope you will join us for the 15th Annual Loudoun Charity Golf Classic at Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club in Leesburg, Virginia, on Thursday, October 2, 2014.

Hosted by United Way of the National Capital Area, our Loudoun County Regional Council, and the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority this annual event has raised nearly $450,000 for nonprofits serving in Loudoun County. The 2013 Charity Golf Classic raised almost $50,000.

We are pleased to celebrate 15 years of creating community impact with in the Loudoun Community through events such as the Golf Classic. The success of the event has been a combination of support from Loudoun County businesses, as well as the aviation community at Dulles Airport, says Mark Waslo, who is the Deputy Manager of Engineering and Maintenance, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

Loudoun Community Impact

All net proceeds from the Charity Golf Classic benefit the United Way NCA Loudoun Community Impact Fund, which is used to provide funding to programs addressing needs in the areas of education, financial stability and health. In 2014, through the Loudoun County Community Impact Fund, United Way NCA awarded 17 grants totaling nearly $192,000 to member organizations serving Loudoun. These funds provide critical support for local organizations working with the most challenged populations in our community.

“The money raised by the Loudoun County Community Impact Fund is invested right back into Loudoun, supporting the nonprofit organizations that are best positioned to serve our community’s needs,” says Amy Bobchek, who is the chair of the United Way NCA Loudoun County Regional Council.

United Way distributes Community Impact funding through a meticulous grant process, and provides ongoing support to recipients to ensure positive outcomes. When donors contribute to events such as the Loudoun Charity Golf Classic and directly to the Community Impact fund, they are investing in reputable organizations that create direct impact.
