Major Reston Road Project To Proceed
The county has voted to proceed with the construction of the Soapstone Connector.

RESTON, VA -- A major road project that would connect Sunrise Valley Drive and Sunset Hills Road in Reston has been given the go-ahead.
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors voted Sept. 25 to support the $169 million Soapstone Connector project despite concerns about how it might impact buildings that have a historic significance.
Specifically, buildings on Association Drive may be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. Construction on the Soapstone Connector is planned for sometime in the mid-2020s.
