Man Beaten In The Woods After Bizarre Reston Laundromat Incident

Police say the man was challenged to some type of "physical game" when he was lured into the woods and beaten.

RESTON, VA -- A bizarre confrontation at a Reston laundromat ended with a man getting beaten and robbed in the woods nearby.

The incident unfolded Sunday at around 11 p.m. at a laundromat at Hunter Woods Village Center. The victim was doing his laundry when one man out of a group of 10 also at the laundromat approached him, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

"One of the men then challenged the victim to some type of physical game," the report states. "The victim and all 10 men left the store and went to a nearby wooded area."

Once there, the group suddenly turned on the victim, beating him and then taking his wallet and some personal items, police say.

The investigation is ongoing.
