Man Collapses On W&OD Trail In Reston: Police

Police have since identified the man after putting out a plea for the public's help.

RESTON, VA -- A unidentified man collapsed on the Washington and Old Dominion Trail in the Reston area over the weekend with an unknown medical emergency, and police have since identified him and contacted his family.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the trail near the Fairfax County Parkway at around 12:43 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, to a report of an unconscious man, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

"It appears the man suffered some type of medical emergency and was taken to Reston Hospital for treatment," the report states. "The man had no identification and no one has come forward looking for him."

The man was found with an iPod and smart watch, and he was dressed in running gear.

Police were able to identify the man on Monday, and family members have been contacted. He was listed in serious condition.
