Man Steals Huge Sum Of Money From South Lakes High School Booster Club: Police
Robert Clinage, 58, served as treasurer last year, and when he stepped away other members noticed a lot of money missing, police say.

RESTON, VA — Police have arrested a man on charges of embezzling $60,000 from the South Lakes High School Booster Club.
Robert Clinage, 58, volunteered as treasurer of the club in 2016. When he stepped away from his position, "other members noticed a large amount of money missing from the booster’s bank account," according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.
"The boosters conducted an internal audit of their account which initially discovered the shortcoming," the report states.

A criminal investigation began in December 2016, and police filed charges in June. Clinage turned himself in on July 12.
Clinage was not an employee at South Lakes High School, police added, noting that booster clubs operate independently from school districts.
