Man Tries to Kidnap Woman at Knifepoint in Reston Town Center: Police
Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a Herndon man, who remains at large.
RESTON, VA — Police have issued a warrant for a Herndon man who is accused of trying to kidnap a woman in Reston Town Center at knifepoint in the middle of the afternoon on Thursday.
The incident happened in the 11900 block of Freedom Drive -- which is right in the heart of RTC -- at around 3:32 p.m. on Thursday.
"An investigation determined a 38-year-old woman was getting into her car when a man approached and displayed a knife," according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department. "The victim screamed loudly; she shouted for help and the suspect walked away."

Police identified 27-year-old Derrion M. Lewis of Herndon as the culprit, and obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of abduction, the report states. However, when they attempted to serve the warrant, they couldn't find him, and so the warrant will remain on file.
The woman did not need medical attention.
