Biography: Amanda McKerrow

The first Moscow International Ballet Competition Gold Medal recipient from the United States, the highly acclaimed Amanda McKerrow danced at the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) under the direction of Mikhail Baryshnikov. By 1983, after only approximately one year at ABT, Ms. McKerrow became a soloist. In 1987, she then earned the coveted position of principal dancer. She has performed multiple leading roles in classical ballets and shorter works, has helped to create roles with renowned choreographers, has staged multiple ballets for ballet schools and professional companies, and has performed throughout the world as a guest artist. In 2000, she began working with the Antony Tudor Trust with her husband, John Gardner.

Biography: John Gardner

Mr. Gardner also enjoyed a successful career. After working with ABT’s secondary company at a young age, he joined the main company in 1978 and, a few years later, he earned the rank of soloist. Mr. Gardner has enjoyed performing diverse roles and working with many renowned choreographers, such as George Balanchine. After joining Mikhail Baryshnikov's White Oak Dance Project in 1991, he gained the opportunity to work with even more choreographers, including Mark Morris and Martha Graham, and he toured the world. He and his wife, Amanda, enjoy sharing their love of ballet with dance students everywhere.
