Meiko + Alexis Babini

Meiko, whose name (pronounced MEE-ko) is derived from her one-fourth Japanese heritage, grew up in Roberta, Georgia - population: 800. Her southern charm, dry humor and observational songwriting style give The Bright Side a powerful, artistic punch. Rising singer/songwriter Meiko returns with her Fantasy Records/Concord debut The Bright Side. An intimate, fearless song-cycle about risk, regret, tenderness and love, The Bright Side already has people talking. The buzz video for "Stuck on You" debuted on Perezhilton.com and Meiko was recently featured in a portfolio for V Magazine.

The Bright Side follows Meiko's acclaimed 2007 release which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart with more than 200,000 song downloads sold. Her single "Boys With Girlfriends" quickly became a hit at stations like KCRW, Santa Monica's influential NPR powerhouse. The high profile exposure led to more notice and glowing press in the Los Angeles Times and USA Today, TV appearances on "Conan" and "Last Call with Carson Daly," and multiple film and television song placements, including prime spots on "Grey's Anatomy", "One Tree Hill", "Pretty Little Liars" and "10 Things I Hate About You" among others.
