Memorial Service Set For Slain Reston Parents: Report

A memorial service will be held on Saturday for Scott Fricker and Buckley Kuhn-Fricker.

HERNDON, VA -- A memorial service will take place in Herndon on Saturday to honor the lives of two parents who were shot to death in their Reston home earlier this month.

Scott Fricker and Buckley Kuhn-Fricker were killed after confronting their teen daughter's boyfriend in her room, police say. The boyfriend, who has not yet been identified, allegedly turned the gun on himself and remains in critical condition in the hospital.

The service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30 at Trinity Presbyterian Church on Dranesville Road in Herndon, according to an NBC 4 report.

"In lieu of flowers, the Fricker family suggests that a prayer be said for all affected by this tragedy and that we all treasure the moments that we have with one another," the obituary says, according to NBC 4.

Police have not yet released a motive for the shooting, but the slain woman's mother has told news outlets that she believes the parents had discovered the boyfriend had Nazi views and had banned their daughter from dating him. Fricker and Kuhn-Fricker reportedly confronted the boyfriend when he tried to sneak into their daughter's room on the morning of Dec. 22, and he shot the couple before turning the gun on himself, police say.
