Metro Hosting Celebration of Silver Line One-Year Anniversary at Reston Station

The celebration will take place on Sunday evening, July 26, and will feature a presentation of popular film Despicable Me.

As the one-year anniversary of Metrorail’s Silver Line draws near, the D.C. area’s public transportation system is planning a celebration for residents throughout Northern Virginia. Metro made the announcement through a sponsored post on RestonNow.

The party, free of charge to all guests, will take place at the Wiehle-Reston station on Sunday, July 26, beginning at 6 p.m.

The highlight of the evening will be an outdoor presentation of popular film Despicable Me on a big screen set up at the station. The film will begin at approximately 8:45 p.m.

Food will be sold on site, but attendees are also welcome to bring their own food to the event, although glass bottles, alcohol and cooking devices are prohibited. There will be free popcorn on hand when the movie begins.

Attendees are also encouraged to bring blankets and/or lawn chairs for seating during the film.

This event will take place no matter the weather, as Metro has an indoor facility reserved should it rain on Sunday evening.
