Missing Herndon Man's Body Found: Report

Kenneth R. Hirsch went missing last week along with his dog and was believed to be suffering from emotional distress.

Police have found the body of a Herndon man who went missing last week and the body of a dog, according to a report.

WUSA9 reported that police were called to a wooded area in Reston -- although police later clarified the location was actually Herndon -- to investigate a suspicious death at around 7:30 p.m. when they found a dead man who matched the description of Kenneth R. Hirsch, who left his home in the 1400 block of Kingstream Drive last Tuesday with his dog.

Authorities believed he had a gun with him and was experiencing emotional distress, according to the report.

Police confirmed that the body was indeed Hirsch's on June 27. The body was found in the 12200 block of Parkstream Terrace.
