More Toll Road Closures Tuesday Near Reston, Herndon
The construction of Metro stations will continue to cause road closures in the area for the foreseeable future.

RESTON, VA — For yet another night, Reston and Herndon commuters will have to endure work on the future Silver Line Metro stations that will continue to mess with their commutes tonight -- and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
Just like Monday night, the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project announced that nighttime construction activities would shut down the two left lanes of the Dulles Toll Road in the westbound direction beginning at 10 p.m. Tuesday night and lasting until 5 a.m. Wednesday morning. The road closures will be between mile markers 3.5 and 1.9, or from the Monroe/Van Buren Street overpass to about a mile before the Route 28 overpass.
Construction crews will be installing overhead signs at that location.

The traffic problems will be severe with lane closures but not quite as pronounced on the Dulles International Airport Access Highway as it was Monday night, which was shutdown entirely in the eastbound direction.
Locals should expect that these road closures will continue for a while. They're part of the construction of new Metro stations on the Silver Line at Reston Town Center, Herndon and points west.
