Nabra Hassanen May Have Been Sexually Assaulted, Police Investigating: Report
The Reston Muslim teen was murdered on Sunday after getting into an argument with a man near her mosque.
RESTON, VA — A new report adds another disturbing wrinkle to the brutal murder of Reston Muslim teen Nabra Hassanen, claiming that police are investigating the possibility that she was sexually assaulted by her killer.
Authorities believe that 22-year-old Darwin Martinez Torres, who was charged with the crime, got into an argument with Hassanen and her friends in the roadway before assaulting her with a baseball bat, pulling her into his car, and then assaulting her again before dumping her body in a pond in nearby Sterling.
But Martinez Torres may have sexually assaulted her as well, according to a WTOP report quoting Fairfax County Police Chief Edwin Roessler.

“We’re doing a thorough investigation and that’s something of concern to us,” he said.
Police are awaiting results of forensic tests on Hassanen's body to determine if that was the case.
