National Donut Day in Reston: Where to Score Your Freebie

Ready to indulge a little on National Donut Day? Here’s how you can score your free donut on Friday, June 5.

Dunkin’ Donuts will commemorate the holiday by offering guests a free donut of their choice (while supplies last) with the purchase of any beverage. The offer is good all day Friday at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide. (We checked, the Dunkin’ Donuts at Hunters Woods Village in Reston is participating.)

The rules:

1. You must buy a beverage in order to get your free donut.
2. Reston Dunkin’ Donuts hours are: 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
3. One free donut per person.
4. You can choose any donut you’d like except for the Croissant Donuts and Cheesecake Squares.

National Donut Day was originally established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I. The holiday is traditionally celebrated on the first Friday of June.
