New Chief Operating Officer for Reston Hospital Starts Aug. 2.

RESTON, VA — Reston Hospital Center will soon be welcoming a new chief operating officer. Allyssa Tobitt, who joined the hospital's parent company HCA Healthcare in 2012, will assume that role on Aug. 2, according to a hospital release.

“Allyssa is an energetic and detail-oriented leader with an outstanding record of successful operations management,” said John Deardorff, chief executive officer of the HCA Healthcare Northern Virginia market and Reston Hospital Center, in a release. “I am confident that Allyssa’s enthusiasm and experience will be a substantial asset to our hospital leadership team and the greater Reston community.”

As a part of HCA Healthcare's clinical excellence team, Tobitt started out implementing various service line management initiatives at the company's headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee. Her next role came along in 2016 in hospital operations. She became assistant vice president of operations at Aventura Hospital. Two years later, she became the vice president of South Bay Hospital, where she oversaw multiple clinical departments and support services. Her most recent role was as the COO of Doctors Hospital in Sarasota, Florida.

A Nashville native, Tobitt holds both a bachelor of science and masters of business administration from Middle Tennessee State University. In addition to serving on several volunteer community boards, she is also an advocate for young children and local businesses. She and her husband are planning to relocate to Northern Virginia.
