New Volunteer Drivers Program in Reston

I just wanted to share this transportation resource with you.

NV Rides Reston, administered by Reston Community Center, launched its new rides program in July with the help of NV Rides. The service area covers residents in the Small Tax District 5 boundaries of Reston.

A total of 67 riders and 22 volunteer drivers have signed up for NV Rides Reston. Since July, NV Rides Reston gave 96 rides to 15 riders--82 of those rides were medical related. Volunteers donated 57 hours, and drove 515 miles.

The client demand is growing every day. Caring, concerned community members are needed to serve as volunteer drivers. To become a volunteer, call NV Rides Reston at 703-390-6198 for information about becoming an NV Rides volunteer.
