Nov 6: Capital Area Franchise Fair--Explore Being Your Own Boss

On Monday, November 6, FranNet of Virginia’s Capital Area Franchise Fair, the annual learning event held in partnership with the Community Business Partnership (CBP), will be coming to Reston. The fair provides help and education for entrepreneurs interested in exploring franchise ownership options that best fit their financial, professional and personal goals.

Experts, lenders and a dozen franchisors from various industries will discuss: the best franchise fit, trends, the franchise business model, local regulations, and funding a franchise. FranNet of Virginia is a franchise matchmaking service that provides educational seminars and free individual counseling to entrepreneurs through SCORE and the Virginia Small Business Development Centers; private employers; career counseling agencies; government agencies; and local military bases.

Speakers include Heather Rosen, President, FranNet of Virginia; Libo Suen, Small Business Administration; Charles McCaffrey, Veterans Business Outreach Center and CBP; Juli Monroe, Women’s Business Center and CBP; Rita Goodroe, Founder of Women's Business Garden, and Business Coach; and funding experts. In addition, franchisors from different industries, including B2b franchises, home-based businesses, and businesses that can be started for under $65K will be exhibiting.

Franchises are available in over 90 different industries that fit a variety of budgets and interests. Finding the right fit is important for success. Most people equate franchise with “fast food;” but many exist that require fewer hours and far less start-up funds and generate greater profits. That’s why the Capital Area Franchise Fair, hosted by FranNet of Virginia and CBP, will help attendees examine different options and learn about navigating the franchise research and ownership process.
