ParkRTC Cash Pay Stations Don't Accept Validation
A spokesman says the pay stations are simply standard meters and therefore, like other meters, they don't have options for validation.

RESTON, VA — If you don't want to use the ParkRTC app to park at Reston Town Center, it may cost you: the cash machines don't recognize parking validation.
In a letter to the editor published in the Fairfax County Times, Reston resident Peter Carlivati said after experiencing a malfunctioning validation option on a cash machine at Reston Town Center on Jan. 3, he returned Jan. 14 to find that validation wasn't even offered.
Rob Weinhold of Fallston Group, which respresents RTC manager Boston Properties, confirmed that parking validation offered at RTC businesses wouldn't work if you just use cash pay stations at the garages, which some locals are opting to do over concerns about privacy with the ParkRTC app (Boston Properties has assured residents that the app is secure).

"The cash pay station meters are simply that – meters," Weinhold told Patch. "And, just like the meters on the street in most urban environments, they do not make change, provide refunds or accept validations."
Weinhold added that the meters were offered as a final option for customers who didn't have a smart phone or didn't want to use the credit card pay station that does accept validations.
